Additional advantages of the programme

This program focuses on integration, creation and innovation from various disciplines concerning dignity, equality and civil rights of persons with disabilities, it is also mixed both social and medical model to promote professional skills, knowledge and visions of students and become change agent themselves in quality of life development for persons with disabilities in Thailand and global society.


Admission Requirements

1. Students must hold a Master's degree in any field which is accredited by Office of the Higher Education Commission

2. Receive a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50

3. Exceptions to the above items may be considered by the chairman of Program Committee and the Dean of Faculty of Graduate Studies


Curriculum Structure

The program is set according to the Ministry of Education Announcement titled "Standard Criteria for Graduate Studies 2005", with the specified Plan B curriculum.

PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

Definition, importance of quality of life development; philosophy, concept theory of quality of life development, framework of quality of life development, criteria of quality of life; quality of life development for persons with disabilities through perspective of medicine, behavioral science, education, economics, political science, social science, religions, integral science; measurement and evaluation, application and integration between theoretical concept studied and work-site study experiences for quality of life development for persons with disabilities


RSQD706 RESEARCH AND INNOVATION ON 2(2-0-4)
DISABILITIES

Critical reading, thinking, writing, systematic literature review; research synphesis ; academic gap and research question; concept and process of innovation; philosophy of truth, ontology, epistemology, methodology; theory and concept of integral science; key concept of qualitative, quantitative researches; and mixed methods; data inquiry method; standard instrument and measurement, instrumentation design; data access and information technology for data access; data analysis; statistical concept and application ; ethical issues for disability research and persons with disabilities

Definition, classification of disability; sensitivity, diversity and intersectionality between disability and culture, gender, age, ethnic and individual difference; stigma and discrimination; disability awareness; empowerment and independent living (IL); disability models; history, human and disability right movement; social justice, equality and dignity; politic and legislative participation of persons with disabilities; barriers free environment; universal design and assistive technologies; inclusive society and integral services; disability and sustainable development; application and integration between theoretical concept and work-site study experiences related to empowerment of persons with disabilities and inclusive society

Definition, concept of accessibility for persons with disabilities; identification of disability-specific needs, barriers and limitations to daily and inclusive living; accessibility, equality, equity and human rights; universal and inclusive design; access to physical environment and transportation; access to technology, information and communication; access to social, political and justice environment; access to economic environment; access to cultural environment; access to health; access to education; inclusive innovation concept; reasonable accommodation; application and integration between theoretical concept and work-site study experiences related to accessibility and quality of life of persons with disabilities

Ethics, rights, equality, opportunity of persons with disabilities and discrimination in various cultures and contexts; history, disability movement, comparative and critical laws and policies on disabilities; current situation and future direction of the rights; equality and opportunity of persons with disabilities at community, national and international levels; the intersections of the legal rights and social equality and opportunities; important disability policies; the role of disabled people organizations (DPOs) in policy creation and mobilization at community, national and international levels; model for effective policy implementation; application and integration between theoretical concept and work-site study experiences related to ethics, rights and critical disability policy


RSQD712 DISABILITY, GLOBALIZATION AND DYNAMIC 2(2-0-4)
CONTEXT

Effect of environmental, political, economic, social change both national and global level on health, education, employment, accessibility and participation in society of persons with disabilities; global population of persons with disabilities, immigration and resource mobilization; linkages between disability, poverty and social exclusion; international conventions and laws, role of United Nations, international disabled people organizations (DPOs) and other international organizations on disability movement; rehabilitation system, social welfare in different countries; crisis and disaster management for persons with disabilities addressed their special needs and problems; application and integration between theoretical concept and work-site study experiences related to disability, globalization and dynamic context


RSQD716 MANAGEMENT OF HEALTH SERVICE AND 2(2-0-4)
SCIENTIFIC MEDICINE

The concept and principle of management in health service and scientific medicine; the trend and situation of factors influencing on health of persons with disabilities health; analysis of health service system, health care and medical rehabilitation for persons with disabilities; application and integration between theoretical concept and work-site study experiences for management of health service and scientific medicine


RSQD721 QUALITATIVE RESEARCH ON DISABILITY 2 (1–2–3)

Theories and concepts on qualitative research; importance of qualitative research in social science, disability, empowerment; type and various qualitative methods; research question, design, approach to truth, cause and result; research ethics, awareness about IRB guidelines in qualitative research; data collection methods, analysis, validity, synthesis and critique; report writing and presentation concerning qualitative research on persons with disabilities, empowerment; application and integration between theoretical concept and work-site study experiences realted to qualitative research on disability


RSQD723 CRITICAL COMMUNITY BASED 2 (1–2–3)
REHABILITATION

Background, evolution, meaning, concepts, objectives, methods, development, contributions and limitations of community based rehabilitation (CBR); roles and supports of family, community, public and private sectors corresponding to national and international policies and laws; analysis, critique situation of FCBR in Thailand and other countries; development of appropriate CBR model within particular context; application and integration between theoretical concept and work-site study experiences related to community based rehabilitation


RSQD725 QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH ON DISABILITY 2 (2–0–4)
AND ADVANCED STATISTICS

Critical concept of quantitative researches; principle of advanced quantitative data analysis; methodology of advanced statistics, general linear model, structural equation model: SEM, analysis of variance (ANOVA), analysis of covariance: ANCOVA, multivariate analysis of variance: MANOVA, multiple regression analysis: MRA, path analysis, factor analysis; advanced statistical computer program application and reading results


RSQD726 DISABILITY AND GERONTOLOGY 2 (2–0–4)

Current theory, practice guideline and approaches related to the persons with disabilities and elder; The critique and analysis based on varoius perspectives in tremsof the service delivery systems and developmental of physical, psychological and social aspects related to the persons with disabilities and elder to encourage the development of quality of life for persons with disabilty and elder; application and integration between theoretical concept and work-site study experiences related to disability and gerontology .
