Emeritus Professor Tsutomu Araki


Emeritus Professor Tsutomu Araki has taught at National University Corporation of Tsukuba University of Technology (NTUT), Japan since its foundation. He was given the title of Professor Emeritus of NTUT after retirement last year (2015). He has led hearing-impaired students to learn design, drawing, CAD, modeling, and machining through comprehensive exercises in a series of educational courses. He has been using CAD/CAM technology with handwriting and Manual machine operation to improve the education of students, as well as teaching methods to stimulate communication. He has contributed to international cooperation in the organization of the League from the founding of PEN-International to the present (PEN-International: The Postsecondary Education Network-International, a multinational partnership of colleges and universities worldwide, was created in 2001 through grants funded by The Nippon Foundation of Japan. Its goal is to improve and expand postsecondary education for deaf and hard-of-hearing students around the world.)
